Region Track
Last Saturday, April 26 the Newnan Track team competed in region. Three of the boys qualified for state. Brandon Clark won the triple jump. He went 44 feet and 11 inches. William Pike won the 1600 meters with a time of 4:43. Alec Ogletree was runner up in the long jump. He jumped 21 feet 4 inches. Brandon, William, and Alec are the three who are going to the state track meet.
Javoris Mitchell placed third in the triple jump with a length of 43 feet 7 inches. Leland Russell got fourth place in the discus. He threw it 119 feet 6 inches. Brandon Clark competed in a second event. He placed fourth in the long jump. He jumped 20 feet 5 inches. Marlin Jones won Newnan a fourth place in the high jump by jumping 6 feet. The last person to compete was Tyler Hill. He did the shot put. With a distance of forty feet seven inches and placed sixth.
The state track meet was May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Albany.
