Cell Phones over People Downunder

According to the Australian government and the information that it recently gathered, there are more cell phones than there are people in Australia. The information was gathered on June 30, 2007, the end of the fiscal year, by the Australian Communications and Media Authority. There was a 7.6% increase in the number of cell phones used since last year. There are approximately 21.26 million cell phones operating in Australia for its 21.1 million citizens. This information was gathered by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. This information puts how much people rely on technology into perspective.
