Roses and Thorns

The return from spring break was great for everyone. New tans and exciting stories are only the beginning of the happiness in the arrival back at Newnan High School. Seniors are preparing for graduation, and there are simply four more Mondays left for them. Although we just can't seem to kick the warm weather into swing, everyone is ready for the summer to arrive. Keep grades up and finish off the '08 year with a great attitude and an even greater GPA. Roses to the return from spring break.

I'm sure there are many who feel just as I do in the way that I am tired of hearing all the pessimism about all the changes in this year's prom. With it being brought to the gym, much of the student body is in great complaint. Mrs. Benton has given all effort possible to make the return of prom to Newnan amazing. She has organized a Senior Walk announcing all Seniors and their dates as well as making a T-shirt and DVD available. After prom should be the time for criticism. Thorns to the negativity.

Kicks 101.5 is holding a contest where they are asking students to text (outside of school, please) the number 68255 with the words "Pickler Newnan High." The school who sends the most texts wins a concert from Kellie Pickler. This is an amazing opportunity for our school to hear her hits "Red High Heels" and "Never Cross a Man's Mind." Northgate is currently in first so let's pull it out Cougars and put another win under our belts. Roses to this exciting contest.

People who went on vacation to the warmer weather are coming home to quite the shock of a low temperature of thirty degrees overnight. It is starting to feel like winter will never end. Thorns to the freezing weather.
