Mrs. Mullins
Mrs. Susan Mullins is a teacher at Newnan High School. She is an alumni of Newnan High School, and she attended University of Georgia where she got a degree in A.B., Spanish. She also attended Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida-- she earned degrees in Ed. S.Curriculum and a Ed. D in Instructional Leadership. Mrs. Mullins has taught Spanish I, II, and III throughout the years, but this year she is focusing on just teaching Introduction to Teaching. She has taught Introduction to Teaching for nine years, but this year she is director over fifty-seven students who are teacher interns in Work-Based Learning at CEC.
Mrs. Mullins works hard to educate her students. She says her educational motto is "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him dream." She teaches her students responsibility and good work habits by setting the example herself. "Nothing worth doing right is ever free or easy. If I work hard and work smart, I can accomplish important things."
Mrs. Mullins has been influenced by her parents throughout her life. They always expect her to do her best, and they model strong work ethic and morals. Mrs. Mullins's grandfather is the reason she became a teacher so she thanks him for that. Her grandfather used to say that "all women have to have the best education possible in order to support themselves and to be independent." Her grandfather make his five sons work to put his five daughters through college in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Mrs. Mullins thinks her grandfather is one of the biggest influences in her educational career.
Mrs. Mullins is an excellent teacher and a great role model to the students of Newnan High School. Hopefully, the teacher interns she is teaching will learn from her wonderful work habits. Mrs. Mullins has put her heart and time into Newnan High School for many years, and Newnan High School has benefited from her.
