A Conference Success
The Georgia Thespian Conference 2008 was a huge success. Picture this, 1,800 high school actors and tech crews all in one place, laughing and enjoying theatre. What more could you ask for?
Newnan's troupe performance of Lebensraum at the conference on Friday evening was also a hit. The audience was moved to tears and to their feet at the conclusion of the show. Although it was presented in the smaller theatre which held 350 people, those who saw it claimed it was one of the best plays ever represented at Thespian Conference.
In addition to the plays, scholarships were given. Senior Corey Thompson was given a $2,000 scholarship from the Georgia Thespian Society. Scears Lee also received interest from many theatre colleges as well as the opportunity to perform his individual event monologues at the closing ceremony.
Overall, Conference was a blast!
