Cougars Cap Season

Although it was not the way Cougars and Cougar fans wanted or expected the season to end, the Cougar Nation has accumulated many proud memories of the 2008 season.

The Cougars' fairytale season ended last Friday, December 5, against Camden County. The AAAAA powerhouse showed their speed and power by slowing down Newnan and never letting the Cougars get going.

The first play set the tone for the game, with Camden recovering a Cougar fumble. The Wildcats scored then as well as on the next two possessions. That was all of the scoring until the fourth quarter, when both teams scored.

This season the Cougars set numerous records. Two of the most outstanding records set were points scored and points allowed. The Newnan offense scored a whopping 451 points and the defense allowed only 58.

Although the Cougars' season is over, it was extremely successful and pulled the community of Newnan together. Thanks for a great season, Cougars!
