Rideable Robots
We all know how much children love to explore, but for children with special needs, it is not always easy. Children with Downs Syndrome, autism, and physical disabilities often have trouble with their motor skills.
Luckily for them, scientist have at least partially solved the problem. They've invented a rideable robot.
The robots have obstacle-avoiding sensors and are controlled by a simple joystick. Scientists are working on a remote control prototype so parents can also steer the robot.
So far, the robots are still in trial mode, but researchers Sunil Agrawal and James Galloway are eager to get the robots into homes as soon as possible.
"Time is of the essence, because there is a baby being born who could use this device today," Galloway said. "That is the race we are in, so back to work."
