Patrick Exner
This week the student deserving of the spotlight is Patrick Exner. Patrick is seventeen years old and a senior at NHS. He plays saxophone for the NHS Marching Cats. He is also in Beta Club and Jazz Club.
The most important people in Patrick's life, he says, are his parents. He says they help him with every decision in his life. Patrick's mom is a teacher here at NHS.
The most interesting event in Patrick's life was when the band won the BandMasters Competition in Cumming, Georgia. He really enjoyed winning the competition and celebrating with his fellow Marching Cats.
Patrick currently referees soccer at Whitlock Fields. He really enjoys it because he makes money and enjoys watching the competition between the players. He is also the section leader of the saxophones for the Marching Cats.
Patrick's favorite subject in school is band. He enjoys band because he has it every semester, and the same people are always in it every semester.
Patrick learned to play the saxophone in sixth grade at Evans Middle School. He learned to play because he wanted to be like his uncle who was really cool because he could play jazz. Patrick can also play soprano saxophone, guitar, bass, piano and clarinet. Patrick has always been musically gifted.
Patrick's favorite sport is cross country even though he is not on the Cross Country team at NHS. He runs every morning and says that he would run cross country if he did not have band. His favorite sport to watch is football, and he is a very big Georgia fan.
Patrick is a very talented student and a great Cougar fan.
