Newnan Tames the Tigers
This past Friday night, October 30, the Newnan Cougar football team clinched the region title with a win over Mundy's Mill and a score of 42-7.
It didn't take long for the Cougars to score in the first quarter. Nick Hill was the first to score for Newnan with 9:47 left in the quarter. Soon after Hill's first touchdown, he scored another just four minutes later by running for a 90 yard touchdown.
In the second quarter, the Cougars scored again on a Lendell Arnold connection to Alec Ogletree to make the score 21-0.
By the third quarter, the Cougars were up 35-0 and making mass substitutions. Mundy's Mill's only touchdown came in the fourth quarter with 5:27 left in the game.
The Cougars won their fourth straight region title with the win, a rare happening in Georgia.
The Cougars take on their cross town rival East Coweta this Friday night, November 6. Come out and support the Newnan Cougars as they look to go undefeated this season!
