World History

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a survey of World History beginning with the Middle Ages and tracing the development of civilization through present day.
COURSE OBJECTIVE: Students should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of world history according the adoptive course standards of Coweta County and the State of Georgia.
EXPECTATIONS AND RULES:
1. You must be in class ready to begin work when the tardy bell rings. Any student standing outside of the classroom will be considered tardy.
2. Come prepared to class everyday. You must have your book, notebook, pen or pencil, paper, and agenda book.
3. Have your textbook covered. Do not use sticky shelf paper.
4. If you use a pen, use either blue or black ink. Do not use a red pen.
5. Do not get up during class without permission.
6. There is no eating, drinking, or chewing gum in this classroom.
7. No one goes to the restroom during instructional time, testing, class participation, or group work. Ask permission before class starts.
8. Do not talk, pass notes, sleep, or anything else you know you aren't supposed to do. Act like your mother or father is standing over your shoulder watching you.
9. DO NOT DO ANYTHING THAT WILL KEEP ANOTHER STUDENT FROM LEARNING.
10. Any other rules or procedures that are deemed necessary may be enacted during the semester.
ATTENDANCE: Good attendance is expected and required. If you're not here, you cannot and will not pass.
MAKEUP WORK: Make-up work is your responsibility. Please check with Coach Britt at the beginning of class to get your make-up work. You have FIVE SCHOOL DAYS to make up work from an excused absence. Unexcused absences get you zeroes. Any previous assignment, including a test, is due upon returning to class. If you miss a test, it will be made up upon returning to class.
MATERIALS: Modern World History--- Three-ring binder, Pencil/Pen, and Paper.
GRADING REQUIREMENTS: You will be given tests,
quizzes, maps, etc. based on world history and geography. All of this will total
80% of your grade by the end of the term. The assignments will be weighted at
the discretion of the teacher.
The final exam will count as 20% of your grade.
