NHS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF 8/30/10
Our vision is to ensure the success of each student.

Students who drive to Newnan High School must have a parking permit registered in their name, and the permit must be clearly displayed on the rearview mirror. Only seniors with gold permits are allowed to park in the gold lots. Citations will be issued for improper parking.  Reminder - Gold Lots must be cleared by 4:00 p.m.
Reminder – Students may NOT park in any numbered parking spots.

CEC students arriving to NHS must report to the main cafeteria when they arrive on campus until class change.

Art Club will meet on Tuesday, August 31st at 3:35 p.m. in Room 704.

Per the Newnan Police Department – No left hand turns onto Connor Drive in the afternoon. Students will need to be picked up in front of the school (LaGrange Street). Cars can only park behind the parked cars on LaGrange Street. Vehicles cannot park on the opposite side of the road. The speed limit around the school will be strictly enforced. Students remember – No U Turns are allowed on Armory Road. There is no parking allowed in front of the yellow curbs, gates, or trash dumpsters. Also, the white numbered curbs are for staff members only.

Cars should not pull through the loop in front of the new gym below the 900 building.

Students who are interested in mock trial can pick up a flyer outside of Mrs. Cornay’s Room 1103 in the ninth grade building or Mrs. Cleary’s Room 214 in the main building. Keep listening to the announcements for the first organizational meeting.

National Honor Society will have a meeting for prospective members on Tuesday, August 31st at 3:35 p.m. in the main cafeteria.  Current members do not attend this meeting.  If you have questions, see Mrs. Headley or Mrs. Williams.

Auditions for the 2010 One Act Play – the Broadway musical Little Women – will be held after school on Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31.  See Mr. Ramseur or Ms. Robbins for audition information.

The French Club will meet Monday, August 30th at 6:30 p.m. in the main cafeteria.

Chess Club will meet Monday, August 30th after school in Room 308.

Boys – If you are interested in playing basketball this upcoming season and not participating in football or cross country, go by and see Coach Ladd sometime this week for important paperwork.

Jobs for Georgia Graduates will meet this Friday in the AV Room at 7:45 a.m. All JGG participants need to make arrangements this week to stay after school to complete the Bridging the Gap Banners.

The first Beta Club meeting of the year will be this Friday at 7:45 a.m. in the ninth grade media center.

There will be a Key Club meeting for all returning members on Thursday at 3:35 p.m. in Mrs. Wold’s room. A list of returning members will be posted outside Mrs. Wold’s room on Tuesday.

The SGA Reps will meet Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. in Mrs. Britt’s room
