NHS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF 08/18/08

Parking permits are $15.00. Students may purchase permits during all lunches. All students who drive to Newnan High School must purchase a parking permit by Friday, August 22, 2008.

School pictures will be made on Friday, August 22. All students may be photographed for ID cards. All underclassmen should be photographed for yearbook pictures, BUT STUDENTS WHO WANT TO ORDER PICTURES MUST HAVE A COMPLETED ORDER FORM WITH THE EXACT PAYMENT ON PICTURE DAY. (The freshmen need to understand this part. They must understand that these pictures are prepay orders, payment to be made on picture day.) The bookkeeper will not make change. The photographers will not make change. THESE PICTURES ARE NOT SENIOR PORTRAITS FOR THE SENIOR SECTION OF THE YEARBOOK.

STUDENTS ARE SCHEDULED BY THEIR FIRST BLOCK TEACHERS. Students will have passes to their scheduled time and place and will receive the passes and name-on bar code cards from their first block teacher on picture day. Students will show teachers the passes and name-on cards as permission to leave class to have pictures taken.

If you are interested in joining Beta Club and you are a 10^th, 11^th, or 12^th grader and have a 90 or above unweighted GPA, please see Mrs. Hodges in room 912 to pick-up an application for membership. Also, for returning members our first meeting will be September 5^th at 7:45 a.m. in room 912.

Faculty and students - The Cougar Chronicles is up and running for another school year.  Your school paper is updated weekly and can be viewed through the school website.  Just click on Cougar Chronicles and keep up with what is happening at Newnan High School this year.

Key Club will hold its first meeting of the year on Thursday, August 21 at 7:50 a.m. in Mrs. Wold’s room. This meeting is for old members only so if you were not in Key Club last year; do not come to this meeting.

There will be an information meeting for those interested in joining the Mock Trial team on Thursday, August 21^st at 3:45 p.m. in the 9^th grade conference room.

The results of the summer administration of the graduation tests are in the Guidance Office. You may pick results up during your lunch or between classes.

If you are interested in joining the Newnan High School Swim Team, please stop by the Media Center Tuesday after school for a short meeting with Mrs. Stillwell. If you cannot come at that time, you may stop by before school as well.

Any Seniors interested in signing up to participate in Jobs for Georgia Graduates need to see Mr. Coker for an application packet and arrange a time to interview with him this week. Jobs for Georgia Graduates will have officer elections this Friday and a meeting at 7:45 a.m. in the AV Room.
