  • PSAT - Juniors - Please sign up with Mrs. DeLoach if you are interested in taking the PSAT on Wed., Oct. 10th.  The cost is $16 and you must have the money at the time of registration.  Mrs. DeLoach’s office is down the hall from attendance. Deadline is Fri., Sep. 21.

  • The Georgia Tech Women in Engineering Program Engineering Career Conference (ECC) for current female junior and senior high school students will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 8:30AM to 4:00PM in the Georgia Tech Student Center Ballroom. ECC is designed to give high school girls knowledge and information about the eleven engineering disciplines offered at Georgia Tech to help them decide if they'd like to study engineering in college, and, if so, which type of engineering is best for them. The non-refundable registration fee for ECC is $25, which covers all materials as well as breakfast and lunch for each girl attending the program.  The application link may be found at http://forms.coe.gatech.edu/content/ecc-application.

  • The CEC TriBots in conjunction with VEX Robotics and the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation and sponsored in part by the Yokogawa and SEC&T present a GIRL POWERED STEM event for girls in grades 6th - 9th.  Please see and share the attached flyer, you can contact Scott Brown (scott.brown@cowetaschools.net) if you have any questions.

Register at ww.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/workshops/RE-WORKSHOP-18-6001.html.  Registration closes on October 5 and is limited to the first 24 girls who register.

  • CEC will host a College Probe Fair on Tuesday, Oct 9th from 6-8 PM.  Representatives from several colleges and universities will be in attendance to share information about post-secondary opportunities.  Students who plan to attend are encouraged to visit www.gaprobe.org before the event to register for a barcode.

A signed  PERMISSION FORM is required. Please click here for  English or Spanish , have it completed by a parent and bring it with you the day of the conference.

 


*CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS*

 

  • Refuge - Refuge Prayer Club meets every TUESDAY morning @ 8:00am in room #763 in the 9th grade building - all students are welcome!

 

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) -  FCA meets every Thursday morning in the Old Gym from 7:45 - 8:15am.  All are welcome to join us.

 

  • Beta Club - Caps for Cure  *Every Friday in September.  The cost is $1 to wear a hat on Friday, and you must wear the hat sticker.  Stickers will be sold in the Main office, Main cafe, and 9th grade cafe.

 

  • Writing Club - Writing Club will hold its next meeting on Fri., Sept. 21 from 3:35 - 4:30pm.  All are welcome to attend.

 

  • Pet Rescue - Fido Fest is a 5k and 1 mile fun run at Ashley Park Sat., Sept. 29th.  Proceeds benefit the Newnan - Coweta Humane Society.  See Mr. Almand in room #201 for an entry form.

 

 


*OTHER*

 

  • Gifted - The Gifted referral period will last through September.  If you have a student you would like to refer, please email lynn.vance@cowetaschools.net.

 

  • Homecoming Dance – Northgate is starting a new tradition!  There will be a Homecoming Dance Saturday September 29th.  It will be a semi-formal.  Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria during all lunches. Get tickets early! They are now  $15 and will be $20 at the door.  Let’s get this tradition started right!

 

*SPORTS*

 

  • Basketball - Basketball conditioning will begin on Mon. Sept. 24th.  All athletic paperwork must be turned in by Wed., Sept. 19th.  You will not be able to participate without current athletic paperwork.

 

  • Viking Pass - Purchase your Viking Pass, which is good for all regular season home athletic events.  The cost of the pass is $75 and is only available to students.  See Dr. Fiske or Coach Hicks for paperwork.
