The Coweta County School Resource Unit employs officers who are assigned as full-time school resource officers at the middle schools and high schools in the Coweta County School System, and several officers are also assigned to the county's elementary schools teaching a drug awareness program called “Project S.A.F.E.”

At the middle and high school level, deputy sheriffs are in place as a resource for students, parents, and teachers. The officers are on campus to provide a safe and secure environment for the students to attend school but are also available to assist in answering questions about Georgia laws, school policies, and to teach informational classes for students.

Madras welcomes a new resource officer this year, Chad Davis. Officer Davis was born and raised in the Welcome community on the west side of Coweta County where he lives with his wife, daughter and son. He began working with the Coweta County Sheriff's Deparment 20 years ago where he worked with the jail division, court services division, and patrol division. In 2014 he transferred to the SRO unit where he taught the elementary school SAFE program.

Officer Chad Davis works with staff, parents, students, and the school community to proactively monitor and supervise day-to-day activities and extra-curricular activities and to provide a feeling of safety and security to our students. He also mentors and sponsors the Junior Law Enforcement Academy which meets during the second semester of each school year.

Anonymous tip boxes are located in our media center and are checked by our resource officer daily. If you have questions or would like to report an immediate safety concern, you can contact Officer Davis at 770-254-2744 or by email at chad.davis@cowetaschools.net
