All About Mrs. Veal

My name is Sunny Veal. I have been teaching in Coweta County for 8 years. I have spent 7 years in first grade and 1 year in third grade. I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Early Childhood Education from The State University of West Georgia. I have a Reading Endorsement along with my Master's Degree.
My family and I built a house in
Moreland and have been enjoying country
life for almost 2 years now. My husband, Matt, and I have been married for
7 years.
We have two
beautiful, funny and brilliant daughters (a mother's right to brag). Abby is 5
and Amelia Cate is 2. When I can
find the time, I enjoy scrap booking. The time and effort is well worth it
when I can look back and remember the little things that I would other
wise forget.
I have
thoroughly enjoyed my past 8 years of teaching. Every year I feel like I
have learned a great deal more than I have taught. Each child has so much
to teach me and to share with the world. This is why I enjoy first graders
so much. They aren't afraid to tell you anything (sometimes more than you
want to know). But each child teaches me a new way to love, respect, create and
teach. My favorite thing about teaching first grade is the reward of
teaching a child to read. There are no words to describe the feeling of
knowing that I
had some part in creating a reader for life, that what I have done will stick
with them for the rest of their lives. It really is overwhelming to think
of the impact that I can have on each and every child in my classroom.
That is why I spend the beginning of each day asking God to give me the
knowledge and patience that I need to make every day full of learning and fun
for every child.
