Jefferson Parkway Elementary Counseling Program
Classroom guidance lessons are conducted once a month in each classroom. Topics such as feelings, self-control, managing anger, friendship, study skills, careers, and personal safety are presented to all students. These lessons are based on board approved standards and competencies.
I also provide individual and group counseling. Topics for small groups include: anger management, study skills, grief and loss, changing families, friendship, and self-esteem. Students meet once a week for thirty minutes to do activities, discuss feelings and learn new life skills. Small groups usually last from six to eight weeks.
