I am excited to be in my sixth year at Jefferson Parkway Elementary School.  I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Education in Guidance and Counseling at the University of West Georgia, and Specialist of Education in School Counseling from Georgia State University.  I am currently pursuing my PhD from Northcentral University. I  am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Jefferson Parkway Elementary Counseling Program

Classroom guidance lessons are conducted once a month in each classroom. Topics such as feelings, self-control, managing anger, friendship, study skills, careers, and personal safety are presented to all students. These lessons are based on board approved standards and competencies.

I also provide individual and group counseling.  Topics for small groups include: anger management, study skills, grief and loss, changing families, friendship, and self-esteem.  Students meet once a week for thirty minutes to do activities, discuss feelings and learn new life skills.    Small groups usually last from six to eight weeks.
