Welcome to Jefferson Parkway Elementary School. We are pleased to have you as a part of our family. Jefferson Parkway serves approximately 550 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. We are a 2005 Georgia School of Excellence in Student Achievement and a Distinguished Title I School- Five Year. More importantly, we have a highly qualified staff and faculty who are committed to the success of all of our students.

We realize that educating students is very much a partnership between the school and the parents. We can’t be successful without your help and support. I encourage you to talk about school and to read with your child every day. Find ways to use and reinforce the skills being taught at school in your daily activities. Provide praise and encouragement for their efforts and celebrate their successes, no matter how large or small. I also urge you to become actively involved in the operation of the school. Volunteers are always welcome! If you can’t come to the school, contact your child’s teacher to see if there are things that you can do from home. Mentors for students are always in short supply, so if you are willing to take on this type of commitment, we will help you get the required training to get you started. Your active participation in our PTO is extremely important. This is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping our school. Please become involved with it in every way you can.

It is important that students are present and prepared every day. Instruction begins at 8:00 and ends at 2:30. Please have your child arrive at school before 8:00 each day and avoid early dismissals as much as possible. Working together on this, we can ensure your child the opportunity for a quality education.
