Welcome to Elm Street PTO!

Elm Street Elementary’s Parent-Teacher Organization is excited about the 2009-2010 school year!  If you are new to Elm Street, we welcome you.  If your child is returning for another year, we welcome you back to school.

The PTO’s purpose is to work together as parents, grandparents, teachers, and other staff to support our students and to allow each one to have a positive experience at Elm Street.

We have a great tradition of parental involvement; we hope to see that tradition continue this year.  We will meet our goals of providing learning opportunities and educational materials, as well as helping to fund our art program, through parent volunteers and various fundraisers.  We want you to get involved!  As the parent of an Elm Street student, you are automatically considered a member of PTO.  All you need to do is fill out the membership form and return it to school.  It is that simple!  There are no fees or dues for PTO membership this year.  Be sure to indicate one area or more of interest so that you can get involved.  Below you will find a list of PTO Committees and explanations of each.  We are looking forward to a great year as we partner with you to achieve successes above and beyond what we would be able to individually.
  PTO Sponsored Activities and Fundraisers

Sally Foster -  The proceeds from this fundraiser benefit our art program by supplementing our art teacher’s salary.  Our school keeps 50% of our total sales.

Fall Festival -  This event is a tradition.  Join us as we enjoy an evening of fun and games with the Elm Street family.

Santa Shop -  Students may shop for Christmas gifts during school.  Purchases are wrapped at school for placement under the tree.

Field Day -  This annual spring event is a great way to end the school year.  Students participate in relays, races, and the tug-o-war.

Spring Plant Sale -  Elm Street partners with a local greenhouse to sell beautiful spring plants.

Terrific Tuesday -  PTO partners with grade levels to provide goodies and treats for Elm Street faculty.

Box Tops Collection -  Elm Street collects Box Tops from General Foods’ products.

Homecoming Float -  Elm Street participates in the Newnan High Homecoming Parade by creating a float and inviting students to ride on it.
