Animal Habitat Research Page Evaluation | Conclusion

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what animals live in different types of habitats?  Have you ever wanted to choose animals that will live in a zoo?  You will get your chance to find out about different animals in different habitats and to choose animals for a new zoo in this WebQuest.

Task

Your city has decided to build a new zoo.  Your class has been chosen to research eight different habitats and pick one animal from each habitat to include in the zoo.  Once you have chosen your animals, you will create a web in Kid Pix to show the animals and the habitats in which they live.  You will present your completed web to your "city" to vote on which animals should be placed in the final zoo.

Process
Click on the habitat link below and choose a habitat
            to research.

Habitats

As you read, pay attention to the animals that live
in each habitat.  Write down the name of one animal
for each habitat on your Animal Habitat Research
           Page
.

Once you have one animal listed for each habitat,
exit out of the Internet and open Kid Pix.  Raise
your hand, and your teacher will help you open up
the Habitat template that you will use to complete
            your task.

Using the stamps in Kid Pix, stamp a picture of the
animals you choose inside each habitat web.  If you
can't find a stamp, either stamp or type the name of
the animal or draw a picture of the animal inside
each habitat web.  When you are finished, raise your
hand and your teacher will print your final web.
Present your final web to your "city."

Evaluation
Each student will receive a maximum of 100 points total.  The points can be earned as follows:

* Completed Animal Habitat Research Page (40 points maximum)

* Completed Habitat Web (48 points maximum)

* Presentation of Habitat Web (12 points maximum)
