Reading

We will be testing the week of April 21-25 so there will not be regular classes. We will not have homework this week either.

The week following CRCT we will work in small group literature circles. This is a chance for your child to choose from a set of books I have and work in a small group in class to discuss the book. With literature circles, more of the reading and work will be done at home so that students come prepared the following day to discuss the reading.

ELA (English/Language Arts)

In language, we will be reviewing the parts of speech as well as punctuating sentences.

We will begin a writing assignment where students will write and illustrate their own books based on a different point of view of a fairy tale.

Science

In science, we will finish our unit on genetics. There will be a quiz on May 2nd. Students will get a study guide of notes on April 28th.

We will then be studying plant classification. I hope to end the year with some activities related to Newton's laws of motion.
