Our 5^th grade team is made up of three teachers.  We work closely together to create a cohesive learning environment for our students.

Lyndsay Carnes

         Lyndsay Carnes was born and raised in Newnan.  She attended Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Ga. before beginning her teaching career in 2000. She is married to Mark Carnes. This August will be 9 years. They have two beautiful daughters; Shelby Kate is 5 and will begin Kindergarten this year and Emma is 2.  They also have 3 dogs; Milo, Luci and Sissy.  She enjoys going to the beach, reading, and baking.

Courteney Kalyta

     Ms. Kalyta is looking forward to her 2nd year teaching at Elm Street. She taught 3rd grade at Elm Street in the Coweta/UWG Internship last year. Due to the success of her internship, she very happily graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Education at the end of the school year!

     In her spare time she loves to exercise at the gym and spend time with friends and family. Some different things about Ms. Kalyta are that she was born in Canada and owns a pig named Sobe.

She looks forward to a fantastic year teaching ELA/Writing to a great group of fifth graders. Go Senior Eagles of 2010!!!!!

Andrew Nase

      Mr. Nase was born in Atlanta, GA and moved to Tennessee when he was 6. He will begin his 11th year of teaching.  He attended Tennessee Tech University for his Bachelors degree and received his Master’s degree from the University of West Georgia. 

      Mr. Nase's family consists of his wife,  Jo, our instructional technology teacher, one son, Caleb, and another on the way in November, Joshua. He also has three pets; a cat, Harold, and two dogs Pickles and Jasper.  Mr. Nase enjoys watching college sports the most, especially football. He also enjoys the outdoors, watching movies, and reading good action books.
