Curriculum Connection

We would like to thank all of the parents and family members who were able to join us for our first annual “Curriculum Connection” evenings.  The teachers and staff enjoyed sharing a little bit about what your children will be expected to learn, understand, and do this school year.

For those of you that were able to attend, many of you were eager to learn more about the Georgia Performance Standards, classroom learning activities, and assessments your children will work with this year.  Most parents expressed shock and disbelief at the depth of learning that will take place.

We were so pleased with what was accomplished during the “Curriculum Connection” evenings, that we will continue sharing our standards and “Essential Pieces” for student success throughout this school year through bulletin board displays in the school as well as a new monthly newsletter focusing on curriculum.

Please take some time each month to read over Curriculum Connections to learn more about the standards being taught at each grade level and learning activities that are used to teach and assess your children.

In addition, we would like to invite each of you to stop by the school to checkout our Curriculum Connection and Essential Pieces displays which will showcase exemplar learning activities and teaching strategies that increase student learning.  We would love for you to take a tour of the building and see the work each classroom is displaying in the halls that demonstrate student achievement and learning.
