Winston Dowdell Academy, A Whole School Model

 

Winston Dowdell Academy serves students in grades 7-12.  The maximum capacity of WDA is 150 students.  These students are eligible to return to their base school after a minimum of one term. 

Approximately 33% of the WDA students had some contact with the judicial system.  Other reasons that students enter WDA include the student’s inability to cope academically or socially at their base school.  

CIS of Coweta conducts a whole school strategy to the students providing services needed to successfully learn and prepare for life.  CIS of Coweta provides the following services to students at WDA: 

  • Mentoring

  • Tutoring

  • Tracking

 

  • School to Work Opportunities

  • Community Service Opportunities

  • Community Agency Referrals
