Mentoring

 

CIS of Coweta provides mentors for students in 25 schools (elementary, middle and high schools) in the Coweta County School System. 

The objectives are to improve the student’s self esteem and academic performance through one on one interaction, encouragement of the student’s efforts to improve, and coaching, when necessary, in academic areas.  Mentors are recruited through the media, local civic organizations, churches, Chamber of Commerce and teachers within the school system. 

To assure success of the mentoring program CIS of Coweta offers the following: Orientation and training, On-going support to school mentor contacts, Tracking, Recognition, Data Collection, Community awareness, Bimonthly mentor orientation  (includes background check and finger print check)
