PTSO Meeting Minutes
Welcome Letter
Dear Brooks Family,
Brooks Elementary is scheduled to open in August 2009. We hope
everyone is proud and excited about this history making year. A
new school requires many supplies that are not always covered in
the ever-decreasing budget. However, we realize that many
families are affected by the economy and will not be able to
contribute their own money to offset these cuts as much or as
often as they’d like. Therefore, the Brooks PTO has decided to
consolidate all fundraising efforts for the year into two major
events. Our first campaign will be for school “Partners.” Our
second effort will be a fun run, which most of the children have
enjoyed at their former schools.
“Brooks Partners” will include all friends of the school who
donate a minimum of $50. At this level, you will get a 4X8
commemorative brick to be placed in a pathway on the school’s
grounds. Bricks can be engraved with your child’s name, family
name, or business name or you can purchase one as a gift that
will last a lifetime. What better way for you and your child to
remember their very first year at Brooks?
Donations of $100 or more will entitle you to other benefits as
well as the commemorative brick. Please note that bricks will
come in two sizes according to the level of partnership. Of
course, these donations are tax-deductible, and all money raised
will go directly to Brooks Elementary. Unlike other fundraising
efforts, no portion of this money will go toward the cost of the
campaign or any other entity.
We hope to reach our fundraising goals by July 2009 in order to
be ready for the school year. The money raised will be used to
purchase Promethean ACTIVboards for all the classrooms as well
as support materials, including books and other equipment.
Please take the time to seriously consider giving all you can to
Brooks. Remember that we are doing this in advance so that other
forms of fundraising won’t be necessary throughout the school
year. One check, one time, and 100% goes to Brooks Elementary.
What a great way to let everyone in Coweta County know that
Brooks is #1 and that truly….. “WE ARE ONE!”
