Gator News Network, GNN, is the news channel for Arbor Springs Elementary. The GNN News Team is responsible for planning and producing the morning news program.

Fourth and fifth grade students apply and audition for positions on the GNN News Team. Positions available on the news teams includes anchor, , teleprompter, camera operators, computer technician, audio and video switchers,

News Team members must maintain good grades, exhibit excellent conduct, and work cooperatively with students and teachers both at school and in the community. The morning crew must arrive early to prepare for the morning show. Positions are available to students in the after-school program or students that can arrange for transportation after school.

Students must complete a GNN application and have a recommendation from their homeroom teacher. A parent permission form is also required. Applications forms will be reviewed and interviews and auditions will be conducted to select members.

The goal of GNN is to have all students involved. Each week Gators of the Week are announced on GNN. Classrooms are assigned one week to explain the Character Education word of the week with the use of drawings, poems, songs, writing, skits, etc. Other opportunities include creating commercials for upcoming events, sharing classroom activities, conducting and compiling school surveys, book talks, etc.
