Arnall Middle School

The purpose of our team discipline policy is to clarify what behaviors we expect from our team students and what they can expect from us in return. The goal of our policy is to have a fair and consistent way in which to deal with inappropriate behavior so that all students can be part of a warm, caring classroom atmosphere that is conducive for teaching and learning.

Team Expectations

  • Respect others' right to learn.
  • Come to class prepared with books, pencils, notebook, etc.
  • Keep hands, feet, and objects to self.
  • Respect individuals including peers and adults.
  • Follow directions, and discuss problems after class.

Team Consequences

We will work with students to change inappropriate behavior before an office referral is made. Consequences may include classroom warnings, private conferences between the student and teacher, isolation within the team, time-out,  parent conferences, lunch detention, or after school detentions. We will contact you right away when we notice a problem because we believe communication is the key to your child's success in school.

Team Rewards

One of our goals as a team is to help students become intrinsically motivated to behave in an appropriate way that is both kind to others and tolerant of differences. We do, however, like to pat them on the back, and let them know we appreciate them when they are behaving positively.  We honor a Student of the Week, hold team award ceremonies each nine weeks, write positive notes, recognize birthdays, offer class incentives, and serve refreshments on special occasions.
