Welcome to Mrs. Johnson's Language Arts page!  Each year, I become more and more excited as a new school year approaches because I love what I do every day! This year, we're going to learn a lot, laugh a lot, and create wonderful new learning experiences, and nothing can teach us more about life than the stories shared by others. Through the reading of literature and purposeful writing, we'll explore relationships, cultures, science fiction, fantasy, media, along with special interest topics and how they relate to you and your life - and more!
     This Language Arts page will be a yearlong resource for you and your parents, so bookmark it, or add it to your favorites! It will include project information, important class dates, links for research, online practice games and quizzes, Internet scavenger hunts, samplers, and Webquests. Because English and literature are taught as a combined course this year, the curriculum guide will be rewritten this summer, therefore nine weeks projects won't be available online until a little later.
     You'll find a list of back to school supplies along with the grading system linked on the right. During the school year, I'll make every effort to provide reinforcement activities for students having difficulty and assignments for students who are absent. Many of my classroom notes and PowerPoint presentations will be posted online, and homework can be accessed online every day as well as by calling 770-251-9535, ext. 7974. I will also be available for tutoring after school by appointment.
