The
Coweta
County
Board of
Education
approved
several
individuals
to fill
open
school
system
administrative
positions
for the
2007-2008
school
year, at
a March
28
called
Board
meeting,
upon the
recommendations
of
Superintendent
Blake
Bass.
Dr. Marc
Guy was
named
the
school
system’s
Director
of
Personnel,
beginning
in July,
2007.
Guy –
who is
currently
the
Personnel
Coordinator
– will
replace
Wayne
Outlaw,
who will
become
the
Assistant
Superintendent
for
Curriculum.
Guy is a
15–year
educator,
and is
the
current
Personnel
Coordinator
for the
school
system.
Guy came
to
Coweta
County
Schools
in 1997
as an
Assistant
Principal
at
Northgate
High
School,
after
working
for five
years as
a
teacher
in the
Clarke
County
School
System,
and
later
served
as a an
Assistant
Principal
at
Madras
Middle
School.
He
served
also as
Personnel
Coordinator
for the
Coweta
School
System
in
1999-2000
and
Director
of Human
Resources
from
2000-2002
before
becoming
Principal
of
Arnall
Middle
School.
He
earned
his
Bachelor’s
degree,
Master’s
degree
and
Doctorate
from the
University
of
Georgia.
Dr.
Walter
Drake
was
named
the
school
system’s
Coordinator
of
Facilities.
Drake,
who is
currently
the
principal
of Evans
Middle
School,
is a
13–year
educator.
He began
with the
school
system
as a
teacher
at
Newnan
High
School
and at
Atkinson
Elementary
School
before
becoming
an
Assistant
Principal
at
Newnan
High
School
in 1999,
and then
Assistant
Principal
and
athletic
director
at East
Coweta
High
School
from
2001-2005.
He has
served
as
principal
of Evans
Middle
since
2005.
Drake
earned
his
Bachelors
at North
Georgia
College,
his
Master’s
degree
at the
University
of
Southern
Mississippi,
and his
Education
Specialist
degree
and
doctorate
at
Argosy
University.
Doug
Moore
was
named
the
Principal
of
Newnan
High
School.
Moore,
who is
currently
an
Assistant
Principal
at
Newnan
High
School,
is a
26–year
educator.
He began
with the
school
system
as a
music
teacher
in 1981,
and
taught
at
several
schools,
including
Arnco-Sargent
Elementary
School,
Newnan
High
School,
Evans
Middle
School,
Central
Middle
School
and
Smokey
Road
Middle.
In 2003
he
became
Assistant
Principal
at
Canongate
Elementary
School,
and has
served
as a
Newnan
High
School
Assistant
Principal
since
2004.
Moore
earned
his
Bachelor’s
degree
at
Jacksonville
State
University,
his
Master’s
degree
from the
State
University
of West
Georgia,
and his
Education
Specialist
Degree
and
Doctorate
from
Argosy
University.
Lorraine
Johnson
was
named
the
Principal
of
Madras
Middle
School.
Johnson,
who is
currently
an
Assistant
Principal
at
Madras
and is a
former
Georgia
Teacher
of the
Year
from
Coweta
County,
is a
23–year
educator.
Johnson
taught
at
Arnco-Sargent
Elementary
School,
Central
Middle
School
and
Arnall
Middle
school
from
1984 to
2004,
when she
served
as the
state
Teacher
of the
Year.
She
served
as an
Assistant
Principal
of
Willis
Road
2004-2006,
and has
served
as
Madras
Middle
School
Assistant
Principal
since
2006.
Johnson
earned
her
Bachelor’s
degree,
Master’s
degree
and
Education
Specialist
degree
from the
State
University
of West
Georgia.
Scott
Floyd
was
named an
Assistant
Principal
at East
Coweta
High
School.
Floyd,
who is a
15-year
educator,
is
currently
Principal
of
Madras
Middle
School.
Floyd
came to
Coweta
County
Schools
after
six
years of
experience
in
education,
and
taught
at Evans
and
Arnall
Middle
Schools
1998-2000.
He
served
as
Assistant
Principal
of
Newnan
High
2001-2004,
and has
served
as
Principal
of
Madras
since
2004.
Floyd
earned
his
Bachelor’s
degree
at
Columbus
State
University,
his
Master’s
degree
at the
State
University
of West
Georgia,
and his
Education
Specialist
from
Samford
University.
Dr.
Keafer
Triplett
was
named an
Assistant
Principal
at
Northgate
High
School.
Triplett
has
worked
in the
Coweta
County
School
System
since
2004 as
an
Assistant
Principal
at East
Coweta
High
School,
after
working
for five
years in
Dekalb
County
and
Marietta
City
schools.
He
earned
his
Bachelor’s
degree,
Master’s
degree
and
Doctorate
from the
University
of
Southern
Mississippi.
The
administrative
positions
were
filled
with
current
Coweta
County
School
System
employees,
and the
system
has
begun a
search
to fill
the
vacated
positions.

Dr. Marc
Guy has
been
named
the new
director
of
Personnel
for the
Coweta
County
School
System,
